Guru – The Source of Liberation
“Gu” is a word that means darkness, and “Ru” is a term for dispeller. Therefore, the name “Guru“, which means “dispel darkness from your life”, refers to someone who does this. Guru does not just refer to your body or shape. It is too complicated to comprehend the importance of Guru. Guru is able to remove the darkness from your life, despite resistance or ignorance. Gurus are responsible for bringing clarity and meaning to their disciples’ lives.
The first time we are born via the maternal womb. But, the second birth happens by the Guru. Every person plays the role of guide, teacher, and guru in their life. However, whose spiritual understanding is so complete, only that person is referred to as Acharya. An Acharya imparts information and Guru provides a higher level of consciousness and keeps you alive. Acharya also provides intelligence and an awakened mind.
Get up and look around. Feel grateful. Donate all your trash to Guru and be totally free. Guru creates gold from garbage. When you live a life that is complete it is a time to feel gratitude. You then begin with the Guru and finish admiring everything around you. Guru is only a beginning. If you praise someone, the praise is given to God. When you praise someone else, your consciousness expands. Therefore, for your own good love and honor other people.
This is the reason we are celebrating Guru Poornima. Guru Poornima is the time to reflect on the knowledge that you’ve learned from your Guru. After getting a spiritual Guru, you will notice a shift in your life. Your humility and gratitude towards your Guru will blossom into true prayer.
Anyone who is looking to test out a new path by himself without the assistance of an instructor and the outcome will not be highly profitable and efficient. And, who would like to follow a path by following the footsteps of his Guru, he can be sure of success.
A Guru will never let you lose track of your destination and aid you to reach your destination in a safe and smooth manner with clear directions to follow the right path and be sure of success. However, to do this to be able to do that, you first need to be willing to submit before the Guru and believe in him, putting aside all of your beliefs and egos.
A dignified Guru can Scan the soul and predict the intent of his disciples completely. He perfectly knows the fate of their soul where they want to reach, where they are reaching and where should they go.
As a potter shapes the pots with sheer perfection, souls also need to be shaped. Stone art, gold jewels, all are made after going through severe cutting and hammering. Everyone only gets to see the beautiful end results but nobody ponders how much pain a craftsman has to suffer to make these pretty things.
Similarly, a Guru shapes the course of life of his devotees and disciples through sheer hard work and after bearing a lot of pain. Everyone only sees the success of the disciple but nobody wants to know or think about the hard work a Guru had put in for the success of their disciple.
A true Guru intently uses his anger, ego, and reverence for the welfare and betterment of their students. A Guru is a saint person who always refrains himself from all the abhorrent emotions like anger, ego, and disdain.
If you are driving the car, you believe that the GPS will guide you in the right place, so if you believe that an instrument that has been programmed will help you get to the direction you want, then why not trust an individual who is a fully realized soul. He will certainly help your soul to reach its destination.
Similar to that, you’ll have to trust the Guru who will lead you on your spiritual path.
A Guru has walked the spiritual path, so he is aware of the best way to follow that path, and also the errors to avoid when walking that path, so he provides us with an undiscovered code to achieve our destination, you have to believe him.
If you believe in Guru and follow his way, you are sure to succeed and not need to face numerous difficulties and stumbles to continue on this path.
The guru who has walked this spiritual and divine route will provide you with all the tricks to successfully walk this path, along with the methods to apply and the mistakes to avoid to succeed.
To ensure that your spiritual journey is successful, you need to follow the example of one who has already made it successful on this path. Therefore, those who decide to pursue spiritual excellence, need to get the guidance of a paramount Guru.
